Berkshire Berries ...The Berry
People -
Route 20,
Becket, MA -

Berkshire Berries®
owned and operated
by Mary and David
Graves, is located
in Becket,
Massachusetts--a
rural community
noted for its lush
wooded hillsides and
cool summers.
In 1978, when
Mary and David
produced their
original three jams
and jellies, they
used native
blueberries from
their woods and
raspberries and
strawberries from
their own backyard.
Even though they
have since expanded
their line, they
still hand-pick all
of the fruits from
their bushes and
plants,
supplementing
supplies from local
farms. And the 100%
maple syrup they
produce in their
small sugar shack,
comes only from
Berkshire maples.
In the beginning,
Mary and David sold
their items from an
old surrey placed on
their front lawn.
Built by David's
great-grandfather in
the 1850's, the
surrey still is used
as the Berkshire
Berries® logo even
though it now has
been retired from
regular display
service.
Despite the
recent growth of the
Berkshire Berries®
line, the Graves
still make all of
their jams and
jellies in small
batches using Mary's
own recipes. The
only difference is
that they now often
enlist the help of
their children,
Shawn, Heather and
Jeffrey,
to keep up...

Berkshire Blue ...American Blue
Cheese -
Lenox,
MA - (413)

 |
|
Berkshire Blue is an
American blue cheese
made in Berkshire
County,
Massachusetts from
whole,
unpasteurized Jersey
cow's milk. Why
Jersey cows' milk?
Because Jersey milk
has consistently
high butterfat,
calcium and protein
contents. No other
cows' milk compares.
Period.
Every cheese is made
by hand so we are
only able to produce
small quantities. We
produce between 60
and 210 three-pound
wheels per week,
depending on the
season. It takes 12
hours from the
delivery of the milk
to the dairy to
become recognizable
cheese and a further
60 days to mature.
Making small amounts
means we can focus
on quality all the
time.
Berkshire Blue was
awarded a gold medal
at the 26th World
Cheese Awards in
London and was the
chef’s choice at the
James Beard dinner
in New York City in
2002 and 2003 and
the Spinozolla
Dinner in Boston in
2004.
Berkshire Blue can
be found at
delicatessen
counters across New
England and at
select cheese
mongers across the
United States, from
Boston to Beverley
Hills. If you local
delicatessen does
not currently stock
Berkshire Blue,
please ask them to
stock it...

Barrington, MA - (413)

Made Fresh Daily In
The Berkshires.
How did Catherine's
Chocolates get
started? You might
say it runs in the
family. Around the
turn of the century,
our Uncle Emile's
family opened the
first of our
homemade chocolate
shops, establishing
a business which
soon grew into seven
shops in the New
York area.
Our family moved to
Great Barrington in
1958, and Catherine
opened a shop,
hand-dipping
chocolates the way
Uncle Emile did,
using family recipes
and fresh natural
ingredients. Only
smooth chocolate,
tender nut meats,
sun-ripened fruits,
fresh butter and
rich cream go into
our candy.
If you're in the
Berkshires, stop by
our Great Barrington
store and say hello.
You'll see for
yourself why our
chocolates have the
freshest flavor you
can find...
